Scholarship Info for 2010 Teacher Training
Scholarships are limited: net proceeds from this course are very tight, so no one will receive a full scholarship from us. We are working to find outside funding to support those in need. Please consider people in your life who might be able to help you pay for the course and what you think it would take to get them to say yes to supporting you. Let us know how we can help!
If you apply for scholarship or work study and cannot afford the course after all, we will refund your application fee.
To those who apply for scholarship aid, we will also send detailed information about our Community Supported Educator (CSE) model for doing your own fundraising from family, friends, and associates. We request that all scholarship recipients participate in setting up a CSE. This involves finding people to subscribe ahead of time for a one- or two-day workshop, proceeds from which will go to fund your teacher training. After the training, you will then produce the workshop for subscribers and any others who may want to attend. We hope that you can work with other teacher trainees to run your workshop as well, that you will see the multiple functions of such an approach, and take full advantage of the support we can offer to help you fulfill this request.
If you need a scholarship or work study, please include with your application a few paragraphs explaining your situation, why you need help, how much you can afford to pay for the course, and what skills, goods, or time you can offer for work exchange before, during, or after the training.
