2008 Work and Learn - Inver Grove Heights

Work and Learn Day, Saturday June 7th at Diadra and Don's house in Inver Grove Heights. 20 Collaborative Members attended. The weather was perfect and lots of fun, education and good conversation happened - along with the actual work projects.
The day started with a tour of the one acre property including, the praire knoll, perennial beds, vegetable and flower gardens and woodlands. Diadra and Don have done a lot of work on their property and have cultivated a wide variety of natural wealth.
The group divided up into 3 work and learn groups; 1) Fruit Tree Guild/Mini-berm swale design and construction, 2) Woodland Plant and Understory clean up and 3) Masonry projects including repairing stone slabs steps, designing and installing paver landings.
Fruit Tree Guild Group was led by Reed Aubin, Woodland Group led by Courtney Tchida and Masonry led by John Dingley.
