Shiitake Mushroom Inoculation Day--Saturday, April 18, 2-4 pm
We want to share the wealth of the limbs from our six red oak trees. These 80-year-old sentinels needed to come down so we would have more sunlight for our forest garden edges. (It hurt, but there are still some 35 mature trees remaining in our 1-acre yard.) The trunks have been sawn into timbers for a pergola. The branches have been chipped for mulch. And the limbs have been cut into 100 40-inch logs for shiitake inoculation.
Come and inoculate a log or we will inoculate one for you to take home--$39/log.
Or just come and watch for the fun of it.
This is happening next Saturday, April 18th, from 2-4 pm in Mounds View, a suburb north of St. Paul, wedged in between New Brighton and Blaine, Shoreview and Fridley.
Please contact us so we can reserve a spot for you, juliannelove@comcast.net. Or call, especially if the time is getting close, (612) 968-0574.
We'll give you directions.
