Work and Learn in Inver Grove Heights
Work and Learn event open to members only and a prerequisite of the Intro to Permaculture Workshop for attendees.
This event is free, but your good-will donation to Permaculture Collaborative would help us to sponsor other similar events!
The day will begin with an intro to each other and the site. There will be free and low-cost surplus plants available. According to interest level, may be several concurrent learning tracks, including 1) hose-leveling, 2) mini-berm/swale design and construction for guild plantings, 3) Woods management – open canopy, 3) Woods – planting understoryand groundcover, 5) Masonry – retaining wall construction, 6) Masonry –repair/reset stone-slab steps, 7) Masonry - prepare and install paver landings, 8) Design and lay out water retention basins
All building materials will be provided by hosts.
Juice and snacks will be supplied. Bring your own and/or pot-luck offering for lunch. Other items you may wish to bring: tools, wheel barrow, notebook, pen, boots, hat, sunscreen, gloves, lunch, eating utensils, water bottle.
Dogs welcome, but please call first.
Children welcome to attend as long as parents/guardians are responsible for their safety and constructive participation.
Limited to 20 people. May be canceled if fewer than 7 sign up. Please help us plan by registering to attend (click on "Add to order" and follow instructions as if you were purchasing an item -- this will just put you on our registration list and no money will be charged). Registrants will receive a map and further information before the event.
