Solar Oven Skillshare
PLEASE NOTE: This skillshare has been cancelled due to a family emergency. We are sorry for any inconvenience and will reschedule for later in August or September. Check our Upcoming Events on the main page.
PRI Cold Climate is proud to be hosting a Solar Oven Skillshare led by Mark Jacobson. Mark is a PRI: Cold Climate member and Peacecorps alumni, where he did work with solar ovens. Come learn how to make a low-cost, effective solar oven for cooking during the sunny months! We will also sample some solar–cooked recipes by Mark Jacobson.
What you will need to bring:
- Participants should please provide their own cardboard. A piece 40" x 44" or larger is required for the design we will be constructing. Double thickness cardboard works the best. Participants are encouraged (but not required) to glue two peices of cardboard together to create a double thickness 40" x 44" piece prior to the skillshare.
- Tinfoil or other reflective foil material.
What to bring if you have:
- A utility knife
- A carpenter's square
When: August 1st, 12:00 noon to 2 PM. Same time and place on August 2nd is our cloud/rain backup date.
Location: Powderhorn Park, Minneapolis, MN – We will meet just north of the playground opposite the intersection of E 33rd St and 10th Ave S on the west end of the park. Look for the solar ovens! Solar Oven Skillshare Map
